If your name appears in this list, select it, then click OK.
If your name does not appear in the list, click the New... button and follow the instructions below. |

Enter your name here.
Click OK. |
Click the button and checkbox as shown.
Click the right arrow. |
Enter your name in this window.
Click the right arrow. |
Enter your return address in this window.
NOTE: Your return address may be different than your actual POP mail address. For example, your POP mail account may be user@sdcc17.ucsd.edu, but you may prefer to use user@ucsd.edu as your return address.
Click the right arrow. |
Enter your account information here.
On the UCSD campus, the SMTP server is
smtp.ucsd.edu.
If you are off campus, you need to set this to your ISP-provided SMTP server.
Click the right arrow. |
Enter your account ID (AKA your user name) here. You can leave the password blank.
Click the right arrow. |

This can be anything, but for clarity, you should use the POP server name (same as the one you entered on page 2).
Click Finish. |

Leaving Your Messages On The Server
If you access your e-mail from various computers, you will need to make sure that your messages are not deleted from the POP server when you check your mail.
To do this, choose Accounts from the Tools menu. |
Click the Options tab.
Check the box shown on the right.
NOTE: If you do not use any other mail program to delete your messages, your account will fill up with e-mail and you will not be able to receive any new messages. Make sure to consider this when chenking this box. You can check the box directly below it to remove messages older than x days.
Click OK. |
Checking mail on multiple accounts
If you have multiple mail accounts and want to check them all at one time, you can set up another e-mail account.
Choose Accounts from the Tools menu. |
Your current mail accounts are listed here (there will usually only be one). To add another one, click the New button in the upper left corner of the window. |
Enter your own name here (same as page 2).
Click the right arrow. |
Enter your e-mail address here. This is your "return address" and can be any valid e-mail address. This will probably be the same as the one you used on page 2.
Click the right arrow. |
The POP server is for the e-mail account you are adding. The SMTP server should be the same as the one you used previously.
Click the right arrow. |
