Augmentative Communication

  • The first three papers examine the consequences of making a particular augmentative communication system (lexigrams) available to schoolage children and adolescents with mental retardation. For related work on the consequences of making a limited number of augmentative signs available to younger children, including some with mental retardation, go to Early Signs and Words.
  • The last item is a book review that considers similar children, but without a focus on intervention.
  • Talks are listed only if there is no corresponding published report.
