Donation

We are extremely lucky to live in a time and place where we were able to find each other, were free to decide to spend our lives together, and are able to celebrate this decision with the blessing and participation of our family, friends, and spiritual communities, and also with the legal sanction of our government.  We believe that marriage is an institution that should be available to all people.  The organizations listed below are among those working to realize this goal, and we invite you to consider making a donation to one of them as a wedding gift to us.

Of the three, Freedom to Marry is probably the more focused on the legalization of gay marriage, and they seem to be a reputable group.  Although (or perhaps because) the NCLR has a broader mission and policy agenda, they appear to spend more on programs and less on administration and fundraising, as a percentage of their overall budgets, than does Freedom to Marry. The ACLU also works to defend the freedom of marriage, but requires a membership to make a donation.
