Video Conference
Here are quick instructions for setting up our system for a video conference using our new LifeSize video conferencing system.
Touch the panel to wake up the system and display the title screen.
Touch the panel again to get to the mode selector. |
Touch the Video Conference Mode button. |
There are four submenus in the Video Conference Mode:
- Dialing
- Cameras
- Presentation Source
- Source to Send
Dialing
If you are waiting for an incoming call, you do not need to use this screen. Incoming calls are muted by default, indicated by red lights. You will need to press the microphone button on the table unit to unmute the mics. The lights on the unit will turn blue.
If you are dialing and the destination is already displayed on the large LCD monitor, you can use the navigation buttons to highlight the destination. Touch OK to dial the highlighted remote site.
You can also touch the Directory button to select a destination that has been stored in our local directory. Otherwise, you can touch the Keybad button to manually dial the IP address of the remote destination. |
Cameras
In most cases, you can use the LifeSize remote control while you are in a conference to select the camera and pan and zoom the camera.
It's important to note that Camera 1 is under the LCD monitor and Camera 2 is on the wall opposite the projection screen. |
Presentation Source
If a computer is connected, a signal will be detected, and you will see a green dot on the button. Touch that button to select that as the presentation source.
To broadcast the presentation to the remote site(s), press the green button once. There is no indication on the touch panel that it is being broadcast or not, so you will need to look at the status bar (bottom of the screen) on the large LCD monitor. |
You can select your primary camera angle here. Normally, during a conference, you will use Camera 1 (under the LCD monitor).
In rare cases, you will want to use Camera 2 to send video of our screen and a speaker. This is only useful if the presenter is pointing out something on our screen. Normally, they will see our slides, but they may want to see what our local speaker is pointing out on our screen.
Volume Controls
To adjust the volume coming out of the LCD monitor (remote volume), use the VTC Volume control. To adjust the volume from our ceiling speakers (local volume) use Program Volume. To avoid echo or feedback, keep the VTC Volume high enough to hear, but low enough that it isn't picked up by the LifeSize mics on the table unit. |
Hanging Up
To end the call, you can press the Hang Up button on this screen or by using the same button on the LifeSize remote control.
Shutting Down
When finished with the conference, touch the System button. |
Touch the System Off button, or if you still wish to view a local presentation on the projection screen, switch to Local Presentation Mode.
|
Touch Yes to shut down the system and raise the projection screen. |
